According to the law in most states, if you are soliciting or requesting donations, you will likely have to register your nonprofit. In most cases, the states ask charities to register prior to soliciting donations.

If you fail to register according to each state law, you could be subject to fines, lawsuits and might be forbidden to solicit contributions.

We have conveniently assembled a list of links for each state to help you validate your status with a pending registration or to check if your organization is registered with a specific state.
